NORTH CAROLINA- Direct Support Professional week in 2024 took place from Sept. 8, to Sept. 14. The week of recognition is set aside every second week in Sept. to raise awareness for the constant contributions DSP workers provide for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Our clients at the Lumberton, and Laurinburg Day Support locations, took part in a service project to extend there gratitude to all of our direct care staff. The service project included clients creating company gifts, and personally handing them to the direct support staff at Lumberton and Laurinburg Day Supports. Clients also took time to tell them how much they appreciated them. The gifts were a bag with Reese’s chocolate, with a note attached saying “Have I Told You REESE-ENTLY You Are Appreciated!”

Primary Health Choice CEO, Dr. Cheryl Davis, extended her appreciation for all DSP staff within the agency. “I would like to thank all our direct care workers that provide services to our clients. Without your dedication, hard-work and kind attitudes, our clients would not live that life that they are able to live. Thank you for going above and beyond. ” As Direct Support Professional week came to a close, our appreciation does not! To all 449 of our DSP staff here and Primary Health Choice, and beyond, thank you for what you do!
